Getting your oil changed regularly will help ensure your car running in tip top shape. Oil changes removes old dirty oil and replaces it with clean engine oil to assist in making your vehicle last as long as possible.

Engine oil should be changed every three months or 3,000 miles, whichever one comes first. However, certain makes, sizes and models do not require an oil change this often. Check with your owner’s manual for specific instructions.

Oil keeps the engine lubricated and running smooth. There are a number of important parts in a car and oil helps to keep them from causing friction. If these components become overheated, they will expand and stop working.

Changing your vehicles oil will help to rid your car of engine sludge. This is a combination of degraded oil, dirt and particles that can be damaging to the engine and the way it runs.

By getting a regular oil change, you are helping your vehicle regulate the way the engine’s temperatures operate. When you replace old, dirty oil that cannot effectively absorb heat, with new oil that can now absorb the oil, you get an engine that can regulate operating temperatures and function properly.

Wear A Hat When Driving In A Convertible

Convertible vehicles are, arguably, the most glamorous of automobiles. Most would agree that there is no encounter that equals driving in a shiny and stylish car, with the wind in your face, and the sun on your shoulders. The carefree ambience exuded by convertible automobiles would lead many to believe that wearing a hat would diminish the “top-down” experience. However, the opposite is actually true.

Safety is one of the primary advantages of wearing a hat when riding in a convertible. A hat can tame the wind, preventing it from whipping your hair around your face. Painful, unsightly and unhealthy skin damage can occur as sun and wind burn your facial skin, and deplete its natural moisture. The right headwear can improve visibility on the road, and help prevent eye damage by shielding your eyes from excess light.

Whatever style of hat you prefer, you can add additional chic to your convertible excursion. The right hat is a fashion accessory to help show off your stylish ride. No longer will your hair be a tangled mess, upon arrival at your destination. A taut, dry and reddened countenance is never desirable, especially when all the world can see you in your sublime ride!

Your car is equipped with adjustable lights to help you cope with a variety of challenging road conditions, but using particular settings at the wrong time is insensitive and endangers your fellow drivers. Learn when it’s appropriate and advisable to switch on your brights.

Your brights, or high beams, enable you to see roughly twice as far as your normal headlights do. For this reason, they are particularly useful when you find yourself on unlit city streets or on rural roads where lighting tends to be inadequate.

Before you switch on your bright lights, check carefully to determine that there is no oncoming traffic. Although the additional light provided by your brights is helpful to you, it can temporarily blind drivers who are driving toward you. Once you turn on your high beams, continue to stay alert; as soon as you see a driver approaching, switch back to your normal beams.

Do not be tempted to use your brights in inclement weather, such as rain, snow or fog. Using your beams in cases such as these tends to be ineffective and can be dangerous, as the bright light will reflect off the fog or moisture and can blind you temporarily.

Though we may not realize it, we rely on our vehicle tremendously. To get us to work on time and to help us run all our errands, we often take our running vehicle for granted. Though our vehicle is bound to give us trouble at some point, there are some times when we don’t want to ignore problems.

If you’ve noticed that your check engine light has come on, here are some reasons you don’t want to ignore it:

Serious problem: Since your check engine light may be due to something serious like problems with your transmission of your engine, you don’t want to ignore it.

Dangerous driving: You also want to make sure your light isn’t on because of a problem that could result in dangerous driving.

Cost more money: If you ignore your light, you may end up paying more money in the long run because it was something simple that developed into something serious.

No worries: You will be able to feel great about not having to worry about your light and more once you get it fixed and know the cause of it turning on.

Though it may be easy to ignore your check engine light, it’s so important that you don’t for the above reasons.

Most people love going on a road trip. There is just something exciting about climbing into a car, being in tight-knit quarters with your family of friends, and spending time on the road, seeing the country. Before leaving, however, there are some very important things you should do to prepare. One of those is to check the signal lights on your car.

It could make for a long trip if people are tail-gating you the entire time because they don’t know what you are planning on doing. Car lights allow people to know your intentions while driving, and they provide safety. In order to be safe without the use of your lights, you would need to use hand signals to let other cars know when you’re planning on stopping, turning, or braking. Using hand signals could also get old if you are driving all day many days in a row. Depending on the weather, you could have a cold, wet, sun burnt, or wind blown arm. No matter what the weather is, you will definitely have a tired arm. Make sure to be prepared, save yourself any possible hassle, and check your car’s signal lights before leaving on a trip.
